Essential oil, aromatherapy massage therapy
I have been a practicing aromatherapist since 2007, since graduating from my holistic therapy diploma. I absolutely love using essential oils! I have spent years studying and practically using oils in my everyday life on myself, family and clients.
what is of aromatherapy?
Plant extracts have been used for medicinal purposes for as long as 2,890 BC, a very long time ago! Essential oils are derived from various species of flowers, grasses, fruits, leaves and trees.

Here are some essential oils you may have heard of, together with what effects they can have on us……
Lavender: Is used as a sedative and relaxant, aides the healing of burns, relieves muscular pain, can soothe colds and coughs. Excellent for athletes foot and also can dry up and clear spots or pimples. These are just to name a few!
Frankincense: Excellent for more mature skin types. Helping to restore some looser skin tone and slowing down the appearance of wrinkles. Has a calming effect on our emotions and good for the bereavement process.
Eucalyptus: Excellent for clearing a blocked nose, treating cold sores and muscular pains
Peppermint: Best known for helping with digestive upsets. Helps with flu symptoms with its cooling effects on fevers. Helps stimulate the brain to promote clear thinking. Also helps to relieve nausea
Chamomile: I well know anti-inflammatory helps to ease skin conditions like eczema or rashes. Taken as a tea, help to promote sleep and aid anxiety.
I create aromatherapy bespoke blends for all my massage therapies. Each blend is created with my clients needs in mind. Through the autumn and winter months I tend to use respiratory essential oils such as; eucalyptus, camphor, thyme and ravensara to treat seasonal symptoms.
Essential oils must always be used under the guide of a qualified Aromatherapist to ensure safe and correct application.
